VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS DEPARTMENT

Graphic Novel
Art and Video Production students will learn to create and publish a graphic novel by writing a short story, shooting still images, and digitally “painting” images through the use of twelve new digital pen tablets

Live Video Jockey Performance
Video production students will produce a Live Video Jockey performance using interactive software and a four channel digital video mixer. The performance will be simultaneously sequenced to a live audio and lighting performance at the Second Lamorinda Acalanes Unified Film Festival (LAUFF) in the Spring

Campolindo Woodshop Modernization: Jointer Replacement
Students at every level of Wood Technology classes will benefit from using a state-of-the-art Powermatic Jointer and helical cutterheads as they surface rough lumber into smooth wood for a mutitude of wood shop projects

Architectural Design Software
Students in Engineering and Architectural Design classes will benefit from utilizing three dimensional architectural design and drafting software as they learn to design the house of the future

Personal Response System for Science Department
Students in all science classes will have the opportunity to use an interactive personal response system using infrared wireless clickers to facilitate answering questions and record responses as the class previews, reviews, or practices test taking strategies

Portable Reading Device
Students with learning needs will benefit from using portable reading pens programmed to provide college dictionary definitions or thesaurus references of scanned words

Ninety classroom sets of Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning, a Holocaust Memoir, will enhance A.P. European History students’ understanding of intellectual history

Advanced Placement Psychology: Using Memoir to Teach Psychological Theories
Seventy classroom sets of Susanna Kaysen’s Girl Interrupted and Mitch Albom’s Tuesdays with Morrie will enrich A.P. Psychology students’understanding of adolescent mental illness and humanistic psychology principles
